Water heats in the tubes and rises to the tank without pressure. The system is simpler, sturdier and more affordable, and is mostly used in warmer areas. If one tube is damaged, the whole system stops working.

How a solar water heater works
The collector tubes heat water with solar energy, and the hot water collects in the tank. No electricity or gas is spent on heating, so the heater cuts hot water costs.
The heater can be installed on a roof, fixed to a wall or placed on the ground. For roofs we check the strength in advance: a tank full of water is a serious load.

Two types of water heaters
We choose the system type for the task, the installation site and the conditions on site.
Pressurised
Water reaches the user under pressure. It is not heated in the tubes: copper rods transfer the heat. More efficient, needs less maintenance, and a faulty tube does not stop the whole system.
Installation site
Roof, wall or ground. Chosen by orientation, shading, roof strength and distance to the hot water taps.
A water heater and a solar station together
The water heater uses the sun’s heat, the solar station generates electricity. Installed together, the station’s output is not spent on electric water heating, and the station is sized without that load.

Common questions about water heaters
Will I have hot water in winter and on cloudy days?
Heating depends on the sun: on cloudy days and in winter the water heats less. Whether backup electric or gas heating is needed is discussed during selection.
Which volume to choose: 360 or 400 litres?
Volume is chosen by the number of people and hot water use. The calculator gives a first estimate; a specialist makes the exact selection.
Can the water heater go on the roof?
Yes, if the roof can carry the load. We check its strength in advance. Other options are wall or ground installation.
Can it heat a swimming pool?
No. Pressurised and non-pressurised water heaters are not designed for heating swimming pools.
How do I maintain the water heater?
Follow the manufacturer’s instructions. Leave inspection and repair of tubes, mountings and connections to a service team.
