A solar system lasts for years when it is looked after

SOLARA not only installs solar systems but also services them after launch: we clean panels, inspect the system and help you keep an eye on production. Leave a request and we will agree the scope and the visit.

Why panels need cleaning

Dust, pollen, leaves and bird droppings settle on the module glass and block light from the cells. The dirtier the panels, the less energy the system produces, and rain does not wash this dirt away completely.

SOLARA’s blog recommends cleaning panels at least 3–4 times a year. The right frequency depends on dust at the site, the tilt angle and nearby roads and fields. In winter, a horizontally mounted system needs cleaning only 1–2 times a year, depending on how dirty it gets.

  • Do not wash panels in the heat: cold water on hot glass can damage a module.
  • Do not go up on the roof without preparation and fall protection.
  • Use gentle methods only: no abrasives or hard brushes.
  • Leave snow and heavy dirt to a service crew.

What service includes

We agree the scope before the visit, based on the system type, number of panels and access to them.

01

Panel cleaning

We clean dust and dirt off the modules gently. You can leave a request on this page.

02

System inspection

We inspect the panels, mounting and connections and tell you what we noticed. The scope is agreed in advance.

03

Production monitoring

System performance can be tracked in a mobile app, which makes it easier to notice when output drops.

04

Service contract

For business systems, regular service can be set out in a contract: we agree the frequency and scope together.

Service continues the installation rather than being a separate story.

How a service visit works

  1. Request

Leave a request on the website or call 8113.

  2. Details

We confirm the address, system type, number of panels and access to them.

  3. Crew visit

We clean the panels and inspect the system on the agreed day.

  4. Summary

We tell you what was done and advise when the next visit is due.

Service questions

How often should panels be cleaned?

SOLARA’s blog recommends cleaning panels at least 3–4 times a year. Near a road, construction site or field there is more dust, so they need cleaning more often.

Can I clean the panels myself?

Yes, if it is safe: follow the manufacturer’s instructions, do not wash hot panels and do not go on the roof without preparation. For roofs and large systems, call a service crew.

Do panels need cleaning in winter?

Not every day, even in frost. If snow stays for a long time and the system stops producing, leave snow removal to a service crew so the modules are not damaged.

How do I know my system needs service?

Compare production in the monitoring app with earlier periods in similar weather. A noticeable drop is a reason for cleaning and inspection.

How much does cleaning cost?

The price depends on the number of panels, their height and access. We will quote after clarifying the details by phone or through your request.
